The CODEMODE coding workshop curriculum is different from the cybersecurity curriculum- it's split up into each grade. While the cybersecurity workshop is for girls in grades 2-5, the coding workshop is split into two different parts: coding for grades 2-3 and coding for grades 4-5.

Though some parts of the workshop are the same or similar, they're still vastly different from each other.

CodeMODE 2-3 Workshop

The CODEMODE 2-3 Coding workshop has 10 parts:

• Women in Computer Science
• Create a Command
• Game Design for Good
• Making Mazes
• Planning Mazes
• Creating Mazes
• Sharing Mazes

By the end of the CODEMODE 2-3 Coding workshop, the girls will have made a working maze game on Scratch and scouts will have earned the Brownie Coding for Good 1 badge and the Brownie Coding for Good 2 badge!

CodeMODE 4-5 Workshop

The CODEMODE 4-5 Coding workshop has 12 parts:

• Vocabulary
• Algorithms
• Loops
• Conditionals
• Create Your Own Conditionals
• Women in Computer Science
• Vocabulary Two
• Game Design for Good
• Tools to Make Video Games
• Planning and Learning
• Building and Testing
• Sharing and Improving

Although I did write the curriculum so that it met all of the badge requirements of these badges, these workshops are still a valuable way for anyone, Girl Scout or not, to learn the basics of computers and coding and develop an interest.
